Out in Community: CanadaHelps Press Conference

Our AHF team members Audrey Rochette, Executive Director and Brooke Harrison, Senior Marketing, Communications and Donor Relations Manager attended a Press Conference early November held by CanadaHelps at the Global Medic headquarters.

13 national and local charity leaders presented a unifying message to Canadians to highlight the heightened demand that many charities across Canada are currently facing.  The rise in demand for charitable assistance is due to the rising cost of living, and influx in mental and physical health issues.

“Access to the culturally appropriate healthcare provided by Anishnawbe Health Toronto is essential to the wellbeing and empowerment of Indigenous communities. We have seen the demand for this type of healthcare rise dramatically due to the recent wave of high inflation, and the tough economic climate. With the opening of our new health center in 2024 the foundation is directly supporting the development of healthy Indigenous peoples, who are contributing to sustainable urban communities.”
