Wisdom Weavers: Storytelling & Traditional Teachings
Join Anishnawbe Health Toronto for a series of storytelling presentations on enduring troubling times, surviving challenges, keeping families strong, and emerging stronger for it all. Elders and Knowledge Holders from across North America will share their experiences as well as stories within their own cultures and Nations.
The series will begin with Elder Kahontakwas Diane Longboat. Diane is a member of the Turtle Clan, Mohawk Nation at Six Nations Grand River Territory and a citizen of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. She is a ceremonial leader, traditional teacher and healer. In the live-stream presentation titled Tending to Spirit: Sharing Our Stories, Diane will speak about the history of the land that brought her home, the meaning of the sacred fire, the transitions of the Soul of the Mother Lodge from a simple gazebo to the large ceremonial space that exists today, and the honour of hosting the many Elders and Knowledge Holders that will be speaking throughout the series.
All are welcome to view the presentation from 12 noon to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 on Anishnawbe Health Toronto’s Facebook page: Facebook.com/Anishnawbe
The 2022 Wisdom Weavers series is funded, in part through donations to Anishnawbe Health Foundation, including major support from Green Shield Canada.
