The results are in for the Corktown Toronto Matching Gift Campaign. The campaign, started by the Corktown Residents and Business Association (CRBA), had set a goal of raising $25,000 in order to dedicate a room in the new Anishnawbe Health Centre. We are happy to report they have surpassed their goal by over $18,000 and in only a few short months!

“Thank you to everyone that has contributed. The dollars donated are extremely important but more meaningful were the comments and notes about the excitement of having this centre in our neighbourhood. I’m encouraged that my friends and neighbours wanted to be part of reconciliation in our city in this way, says Tricia Waldron, Corktown News Editor. The CRBA fundraising efforts culminated in a holiday party with an additional fundraiser for Anishnawbe Health and the announcement that the goal of $25,000 had been met.

Although the Corktown campaign has already met the match generously donated by Tricia and resident Larry Webb, it is not too late to contribute.

We are deeply appreciative of the generosity of our future neighbours and we look forward to celebrating with the Corktown community.
